new 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 4X4Head to Ourisman Chevrolet Buick GMC and pick up a new work horse before year’s end. There are plenty of new 2011 model trucks and SUVs on the lot, but it’s plenty worthwhile to upgrade to a 2012 model that features some more space, sleek looks and the latest options for in-vehicle technology.

Our perfect example is the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 4X4 Regular Cab or Extended Cab Pickup. Both models sport plenty of legroom and new interior color options. Low step-in height makes it easy to access the cab, while the Extended Cab model also features doors that open to 170 degrees. That makes it easy to load as well. Locking under-seat storage, dual glove boxes and an easy flip-up rear bench seat all make the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Extended Cab a no-brainer when you want a Chevrolet Pickup to haul a lot of loads and a lot of people.

OnStar voice-guided navigation and access to an OnStar Advisor in case of emergency comes standard for six months on most 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 4X4 Pickup trucks. The truly plugged-in workers can also download the OnStar RemoteLink app to their smartphones and initiate starts, cabin warm-ups, horn and lights remotely. Optional NavTraffic through SiriusXM navigation radio provides detailed traffic information as it’s needed. Chevrolet Wi-Fi by Autonet Mobile and Bluetooth at-your-command technology make working from the road as easy (or easier) than from the office.

Of course, under the hood, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 4X4 Pickup is just as dependable and long-lasting as ever.

Ourisman Chevrolet Buick GMC of Alexandria has both 2011 and 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 4X4 Pickup Trucks in stock. Experience the difference between the new and the “newer.” Visit our dealership anytime, or schedule a test drive by calling 703/329-1300. Some clearance specials end Nov. 27.

Don’t forget the Ourisman Buyer’s Edge! Ourisman Chevrolet Buick GMC gives our valued Virginia customers $1500 in extras with the purchase of every new vehicle from our lot, plus a money back guarantee. Bring your new vehicle back to us within three days and we will refund your money.

(But, we know if you pick up a 2012 Silverado, you won’t want to bring it back.)

Ourisman, a GMC Dealer Located in West Virginia, Suggests a 2012 GMC Terrain SUV with Intuitive Forward-Collision Alert System

GMC Terrain collision alert demo

We’ve all succumb to distracted driving. That’s why it’s the primary cause of car accidents worldwide. Now, for less than most car accident insurance deductibles, the 2012 GMC Terrain smaller SUV provides a first of its kind technology-driven accident prevention system designed to reduce crashes caused by distracted driving.

It doesn’t take anything more than a serious thought or an interesting billboard to pull your eyes off the road for a fraction of a second. And it doesn’t take more than a fraction of a second to be involved in an accident. The Forward-Collision Alert System offered on this GMC compact crossover SUV is an effective stopgap for that split-second of driver inattention.

At the heart of the Forward-Collision Alert System is a high-resolution digital camera discreetly mounted on the GMC Terrain’s windshield. The camera, which recognizes lane marking as well as other vehicles, feeds information to a digital display in the center of the dashboard. Green icons indicate that a car is ahead and also that the GMC Terrain itself is safely inside its own driving lane. Red icons indicate that the GMC Terrain is following a vehicle too closely. When the Forward-Collision Alert System’s algorithm determines a rear-end collision is imminent, the display flashes red and delivers an audible alert.

A practiced driver naturally would ask, “If a collision is imminent, isn’t it too late to prevent?” Not with the GMC Terrain SUV. Once the system delivers its collision warning, the vehicle’s brakes are “pre-charged” and ready for the final stop as soon as the driver’s foot hits the brake pedal.

This dual-benefit crash alert system also recognizes when the GMC Terrain drifts out of its lane or begins a turn before the turn signal has been initiated. In this instance, the dashboard icon flashes amber in color and delivers a different audible warning.

Safercar.gov gave both the all-wheel drive and four-wheel drive 2012 GMC Terrain SLT sport utility vehicles 4s and 5s (the highest rank being “5”) for crash test results. However, when drivers choose to include the $295 optional Forward-Collision Alert System, the chances of ever finding out how great those head and side air bag systems actually work is greatly reduced.

Ourisman Chevrolet Buick GMC, an Alexandria Chevrolet Buick GMC dealership, is proud to reveal the newly redesigned GM CPO program, the Chevrolet/Buick/GMC Certified Pre-Owned Program. GM officials decided to revamp the auto manufacturer’s CPO program to add more value to it for both customers and Chevrolet Buick GMC dealers.

“One of the most important things we can do is manage the business to help increase the value of Chevrolet, Buick and GMC used vehicles,” said Don Johnson, GM vice president of U.S. sales operations. In addition to providing top-quality used vehicles, Johnson also notes that the strengthened CPO program will help lower ownership costs of new GMC vehicles by offering those owners more for their trade-ins.

The all-new Chevrolet/Buick/GMC Certified Pre-Owned program comes with GM’s free maintenance program, Owner Care. Described by GM officials as an industry first, the Owner Care program offers free oil changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections for certified pre-owned GMC Buick Chevrolet owners for the first two years or 30,000 miles.

Additionally, GM’s updated CPO program is making it easier for Chevrolet Buick GMC dealers to describe the vehicle inspection efforts by providing customers with a 172-point inspection as opposed to the former 117-point inspection. Along with these improvements, certified pre-owned vehicle buyers can expect to receive GM’s five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and 12-month/12,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
